The Ship Inn is located at the entrance of the most southerly
working port in mainland Britain and enjoys magnificent coastal views. There is an area for those who prefer to be outdoors in the summer and two inviting log
fires for the winter visitors. The Smithy is a separate but ideal family/children's room with its own log fire.
The long distance coastal path passes the entrance to the Ship Inn
a good place to take a break for some refreshment before continuing the journey.
The Ship was built as a fisherman's Inn during the 18th century,
making it one of the oldest buildings in Porthleven. Naturally an old Inn must have its ghosts. The Ship has two in residence, a Mrs Ruberry and a French
prisoner of the Napoleonic War. Interested? Follow this link to find out more

Owners Colin and Chris have run the Inn for many years. They take a
pride in being a chip free zone serving excellent home cooked food, including locally caught fish. The menu includes vegetarian dishes. All meals are cooked to
order.
Colin has a very good sense of humour and the menu board does state
"Bad planning on the customers part does not constitute a panic on ours". The Inn, being a free-house, serves a variety of good real ales.
Visitors who come to Cornwall without discovering Porthleven are
really missing an experience. Visitors who come to Porthleven without visiting the Ship Inn don't know what they are missing.
Please note: No accommodation is available at this Inn.
